Funded by NLR and implemented by MACDI, “Enhancing the Children’s participation in Inclusive Education” Project was performed from 2018 to present in 6 project areas of Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh city. The objective of project are: enhancing capacity on children with disabilites knowledge and skills in inclusive education to teachers, captain of project area schools through training course; improving the integration environment and coordination mechanism between families, schools, local authorities for children with disabilities to participate in learning at schools as well as enhacing the children’s participation in social – culture activities in schools and outside.
In August, 2019, more than 30 children with disabilities in Tan Lac Primary and Secondary School in 6 project area communes had the opportunity to participate to learn about nature and picnics one day at Ban Lac (Mai Chau, Hoa Binh). In order to bring the disabled children to experience this time, the project members had to prepare a long time ago. At the same time, working with schools and parents to ensures children have the most participation opportunities. They have participated in many activities; interact with foreigners, visit stores and learn about products handmade by people with disabilities here.
Ms Ha Thi Nhung – Project Coordinator said: “The program is designed with many interesting activities, helping children have the opportunity to learn about nature, people, the identity of the resort. Through this acitivities helping them to develop social skills, and more confidently”.
“This is the first time I have an opportunity to visit here with my friends and my teachers. This is a significant picnic for me to chance meet and exchange with other people with disabilities who are good at making craft by themselves, I hope that the children with disabilities like me will become a valuebale person for social in the future” – Ms Dinh Lam Khanh – one of the children with disability – Student at 7 Class of Phu Cuong Secondary School said.
The parents of student were also appreciated the significant activities of project team and MACDI for children with disabilities. Ms. Dinh Thi Khiet, Ngoc My commune – parents of children with disabilities shared: “We are very melted with the hearts of the teachers, and Project officers of MACDI for the poor children, children with disabilities and their families. These activites will be a great memories for our childs”.
